Perfect Pocket Squares by Simon Crompton

Leading menswear writer, Simon Crompton of Permanent Style fame, recently visited Budd to film a handy guide on how to fold your pocket squares for six different looks. In his video short, he also acknowledges the best quality fabrics to use for each fold.

Budd has long been a pocket square specialist. Many visitors to our Piccadilly shop will have heard Store Manager, Andrew Rowley, ask customers whether they are seeking a handkerchief for “show or for blow” before taking them through the rudimentals of our collection. From batiste, to linen, plains through to madders, spots through to paisleys, we offer an extensive collection.

Never overlook wearing a pocket square, especially if you are going sans tie. These simple piece of material with their beautifully hand rolled edges, instantly lift a jacket and provide the perfect finishing touch to your outfit. If you are wearing a tie, the rules are simple; don’t match your square to your tie, but compliment a colour detail in its pattern and ensure that it boosts the overall effect as opposed to dulling it down.
